The Dark Knight Posters part 1

BoxManga.com Online Manga

Regarding my plea about the Shin Angyo Onshi manga, a fellow Yahoo! Answers user led me to a manga and anime site that is very friendly and updated! Hooray!

Well, I was hoping for a site that hosts direct downloads, but as Shin Angyo Onshi is not that widespread over the Web yet I guess this'll do for now. The important thing is that the manga is still alive online, and that it's updated. That's a lot to be thankful for, especially with rare mangas like this.

BoxManga.com is the site that I was referred to. One look at it and I was satisfied (ignoring the slight disappointment that it doesn't hold direct downloads). It even has other mangas and animes that I haven't heard of yet. I think I'll pay close attention to this site. If I can't get any downloads, at least I'll be able to keep myself up to date with the new chapters and episodes available.

Ouran Host Club Chapter 61!

After a long wait (why do the chapters have to be a month apart?!), the new chapter of Ouran High School Host Club is finally out! We were impatiently waiting for it. The story has reached its climax in the love triangle of Tamaki, Haruhi, and Hikaru.

The last chapter centered on Tamaki's trauma on love and relationships... that idiot. Hikaru finds out when he heard Kaoru and the others talk about it. Haruhi is the only one left in the dark about it now.

Chapter 61 shifts its attention to Hikaru, who is now in emotional distress because of Tamaki's trauma, his knowledge of Haruhi's love for Tamaki, his own love for Haruhi, and his respect for Lord Tamaki. So.. what do you think he'll do? ^_^

Well, one thing didn't change throughout chapter 61. Tamaki --- that narcissistic and obnoxious idiot --- is really an idiot.

Note to myself (and everyone who's interested): Ouran High School Host Club manga chapters come out every 24th of the month. Let's hope that the scanlators are fast, too! :D We really appreciate your efforts! Thanks, guys! ^_^

Shin Angyo Onshi manga... HELP!!!

I'm hating myself for procrastinating on downloading this manga. I wanted to wait until after I finish cleaning up my files in the computer a bit. When I've finally found the time to check on Shin Angyo Onshi and to download the missing chapters and updates, I found nothing. Nothing! I felt like throwing something at my monitor.

All I can do now is ask for help... Help me please! Is there anyone out there willing to upload Shin Angyo Onshi manga?

Really.. I feel so crappy. I used to download this manga at et-cetera.net. It was the only site I found to be hosting this manga. I stopped downloading the updates for a while because I had to do some organizing on the files in my pc. When I went back to take a look at the site last weekend for a fresh batch of downloads, I found that the site was closed. Darn it. Darn it!

I scourged the net for other sources of downloads for this manga. But Korean mangas aren't that popular, are they? I don't think many have heard of this manga (or manghwa) yet. Even images and pictures of it are so little! Arrrggghhh...

For those who don't know: you've missed a great manga! I believe Shin Angyo Onshi is one of the most underrated mangas. It's got a great storyline, complex situations, great heroes, overwhelming magic and sorcery, and it centers on the most grounded protagonist I have ever met. The drawing and images are also so cool --- dark, heavy.. better than most mangas.

I hope someone will bring this manga back to life on the internet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Drooling For New Books

I went to the National Book Store earlier today, and drooled over the books again. I've had a mental list of books I've been planning to buy for quite some time now. I can't seem to find them at the store. Instead, I found new targets... new entries on my book list...

The Dark Is Rising (Boxed Set)

I've seen the movie. The story was great, though the way it was directed was a little crappy for me. It was a little hurried, if you ask me. It felt like they did not concentrate on the flow of the story, and instead just made the movie because of the popularity that these type of movies had (movies based on fantasy novels like LOTR, and The Spiderwick Chronicles).

I haven't read the book yet and I really want to. So when I saw the boxed set, I kind of went "oooohhh.." in my mind. I really miss fantasy books like these. I think I'm gonna put this set on the top of my list.

Phillipa Gregory Books

I'm a sucker for "what-if" stories based on history and true events. So when I heard of The Other Boleyn Girl movie depicting Anne Boleyn as an ambitious queen and the villain of the story, I was very intrigued. Her other books on the other royalties of England, Scotland, and Aragon caught me with an "oooohhh..." as well.

The Constant Princess - a story on the early life of Katherine of Aragon
The Other Boleyn Girl - this centers mainly on sisters Mary and Anne Boleyn
The Boleyn Inheritance - another book focusing on the reign of Anne Boleyn as queen of England, with her cousins Katherine and Jane Boleyn mixing in the plot
The Queen's Fool - centers on Mary Tudor as her half-sister Elizabeth I waits for her to make a mistake and take over the throne of England
The Virgin’s Lover - Elizabeth I's reign, wherein an assassin is just somewhere close
The Other Queen (Mary Queen of Scots) - not yet available

Droooooooollll......
Now if only I had more money...

For Just One Post

For just one blog post on my Wordpress blog, I sat and sweated out more than two hours in front of the computer... One post! Only one!

This is one thing I hate about posting at Wordpress. When you post pictures --- a lot of them --- you end up going back and forth in editing and refreshing the post.

I also had to scourge for good pictures from the Web. I had to check the sources of the pictures, too, to make sure that the pictures in my blog post won't just disappear when its source disappears. This is another thing that I hate about Wordpress blogs.

Oh well, after a lot of work (I've got droopy eyes; I'm tired!), I finally finished the post. I am featuring FHM's Top 10 Sexiest Women in the World. Guess who's on top of the list. It's none other than the foxy beauty pictured here: Megan Fox from Transformers.

Why I Don't Think Tobi is Uchiha Obito

The first part of the Madara-Tobi-Obito deal certainly raised many questions and uncertainties. And I'll say it's all Tobi's fault!..

... For having a name so near to that of Obito's --- coincidence or not?...
... For unmasking only the right side of his face --- may be implying that he doesn't have his left eye and, if he really is Obito, gave it to Kakashi...
... And for making Itachi a villain and geting him killed by his own crank head of a brother (oooh, yes, I hate Sasuke with all my otaku heart!)...

But then I also have some things to thank Tobi for...

... Being a genius Sharingan user, a "high-def" Uchiha --- meaning he can't be Obito because Obito was Narutoish and only got to use his Sharingan hours before (or maybe even just minutes) before he died and gave Kakashi his left eye...
... Being a smooth talker that he even managed to convince Itachi to kill the whole Uchiha clan --- Obita was childish and had low self-esteem and I cannot picture him out as the Tobi who can still be cool even when acting the inexperienced partner of Deidara...
... And for directly stating that HE IS UCHIHA MADARA in manga chapter 397:

As for the issue of Tobi's ability to bend time and space, he cannot be Uchiha Obito because of Obito's beginner level use of the Sharingan at his death. There is also the fact that Kakashi and Ren were with him at his last moments. And if Obito was Tobi, who is a great Sharingan user, what would be his reason to act like the clutzy teammate and for dying? I don't think giving an eye away would improve an Uchiha's ability on the Sharingan. From what I understood of Itachi's story about a pair of Uchiha brothers in the past (I think it was Madara and his brother [?] ), they're supposed to take another Uchiha's eyes to achieve their ultimate techniques.

2 Years Too Late On Krrish

Most people I know would not know of the movie Krrish.. heck,I doubt if they even know the term 'Bollywood.' My sister didn't know about it until I told her about the Indian films. She didn't know it's what we call Bollywood.

I guess I shouldn't be so uppity about it. After all, I've only seen two Bollywood movies so far. Filipinos aren't also that acquainted with Indian films. Korean, Japanese, Chinese --- they'll know a lot. But Indian and Bollywood? It's not so popular here. I'm already 2 years late in viewing it! It was released on 2006.

One of the Bollywood films that I've watched is Krrish, with award-winning Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan as the lead character. He plays the son of a genius man who was given superhuman powers by an alien. As a result, Hrithik Roshan's character, by the name of Krishna, was also endowed with superhuman abilities. Here's a scene from the movie where he beats out a couple of lowly gangsters that stole his girlfriend's ring.

The story mainly focuses on Krishna trying to conceal his powers, his love life with a ditzy girl, and what had happened to his father. If I ignore all the cheesy moments when he's with the girl (sorry, I am not familiar with the actress yet), I'd say the movie was really entertaining!

Well, to be more critical of the movie, the special effects were very obvious. The stunts were incredible, but not believable. Given that he has superhuman powers, I guess it should be believable. It was the cinematography and choreography that was at fault, I think. Too many slow mos.

While I commend Hrithik Roshan for his athletic abilities which he displayed in the movie, I have a problem with his overexaggerated acting at times.

Still, I enjoyed the movie... fast-forwarding the scenes where they sing and dance, of course. So cheesy.

Madonna Decena on Britain's Got Talent

Filipinos (Filipinas in particular) are showing the whole world of the power voices unique to the Pinoys who like all the 'birit' and vein-popping high notes. Charice Pampengco is now an international star after a standing ovation from Korea, an appearance in The Ellen DeGeneres show, and a star treatment from Oprah. Ramiele Malubay showed that even a small body can possess such a powerful and round voice in American Idol (but was eliminated).

Now, it's Madonna Decena's turn. Working in Britain to provide for her two kids back here in the Philippines, she decided to audition at Britain's Got Talent to get more opportunities to see her family.

Is Tobi Really Uchiha Madara or Uchiha Obito?

A fellow anime fanatic friend of mine and I are having a bet:

If Tobi is really Uchiha Madara, as is being built up in the manga, I win.

If Tobi is really the undead or resurrected Uchiha Obito (and Kakashi's eye-mate), he wins.

The price: Php 100.00 ... we're not that rich... ^_^

As proof --- and so that none of us will back out, here's a copy of our conversation:

*My friend will go by Mikee, in case he doesn't want his name known. My apologies to those who cannot understand our Filipino dialect. I think you'll be able to get the flow of the conversation, anyway.

Mikee: naa ko share sa imo! [he sends me the picture you see here, to remind me of a past argument on whether or not Tobi is Madara or Obito... he really insists that Tobi is Obito!]
ME: pusta ta bi.. [I get riled up: let's gamble on this!]
Mikee: sure
Mikee: hehhee
ME: pila?!
ME: [smiley]
Mikee: 5k?
ME: oips!
ME: sobra na! [he's gotta be kidding if we both have that much.. he sure is confident... grrr...]
ME: kung mpildi ko, la ko mabayad ingana ka dako!
ME: [smiley; I'm yakking away that I don't have that much money.]
Mikee: hahah
Mikee: lolz
ME: small lng daw uy...
ME: la pa ta savings...
Mikee: cge 100 lang
Mikee: heheh
Mikee: deal?
ME: [smiley; thumbs up!]
ME: oks ah...
ME: deal na ni ha..
Mikee: okay deal
Mikee: hahaha

... and that there's the deal. ^_^

Finally! This Blog Is In Action!

Frankly, creating this blog has been something short of a headache. It's all because of the template. When I saw this template at JackBook.com, I really wanted it to use for this new blog of mine. I thought it was going to be just a copy-paste routine, but it turned out to be a little more complicated than that.

Instead of the simple copy-paste task when changing your blogger template to that of a new one from an outside source (presently, this would most often only work with classic templates), it seems like I had to upload the .xml file of the template. Now that would have been fine with me, too. I mean this should be easy for me after spending almost two years in front of a computer. But there were other requirements in order for this template to be successfully displayed.

I don't blame JackBook.com for telling us to move the template images to our own Google Pages. The site is pretty neat and has a lot of subscribers that it is only normal for them to worry about their bandwidth. Moving the template images to our own folders would also ensure us that the template will still be up and there if ever JackBook.com closes that specific template down from their site.

Uploading the XML file and moving the template images to my Google Pages was fine. But I don't know what happened on my first tries. The layout turned out missing the header or lacking in images. It wasn't until I started all over again --- uploading and tinkering with the widget errors --- that I finally succeeded. Yes! Really.. it wasn't easy. It was my first time tinkering XML language. I found HTML and CSS far easier.
